Why can’t a professional artist offer a show for €400?

Project PQ always gives 100% and delivers spectacular shows. Our quotes are properly costed and represent value for money. My income as a performing artist is normally generated from shows that take place at weekends. The rest of the time is spent training 3-4 hours a day, followed by manning the office, completing my tax return, compiling quotations, providing customer service, maintaining the website, and building and repairing props. In addition, we hone our skills on an ongoing basis by attending workshops and training courses. We want to be able to continue offering these high standards.
Depending on how often a performer is away from home, the fixed costs can be in the region of €1800 / month. Moreover, we don’t always have shows every weekend.

Why are some performers able to offer fire shows for €400?

For these people, performing in fire shows is just a hobby. In other words, they earn their living in a different profession. Pursuing a hobby generally costs money. Anyone would welcome the opportunity to cover these expenses by doing a bit of work on the side. These earnings are probably not declared to the tax office and may not even have to be.

How does this impact quality?

There are undoubtedly a few good amateur performers, but they generally don’t have much time to work on their act. Moreover, they often don’t have time to undertake professional training. This compromises stage presence and confidence in handling fire. No doubt you want your event or wedding to run smoothly. Synchronised choreography is seldom seen in shows of this kind. In many cases, performers do not have the relevant professional liability insurance and that can be dangerous.

Something to bear in mind......

No matter what you are celebrating or what event you are organising, the show is supposed to be the highlight. It is therefore worth spending a little more money if you want to be sure that it stays that way.
Project PQ works with full-time artists, camera men, graphic designers and technicians who earn their living from the profession. We believe in paying fair wages in the performing arts sector and do not engage in price dumping. All our dancers have completed a professional training course in stage dance and work hard. They deserve to be paid accordingly. For us, treating people fairly is of utmost importance. We reject the “one fits all” mentality in favour of personal service and advice, so that you and your guests can sit back, relax and enjoy the fire show. We are passionate about our profession and performing on stage. Here too, enthusiasm and quality are our top priorities. We are always at your service and take pleasure in providing you with a first-rate show. Our references speak for themselves.
